NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow

I am an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow training in General Practice and working in Oxford at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. Half of my week is spent in primary care research, where my main interests are in cardiovascular medicine including atrial fibrillation and heart failure. I am also working on studies in weight management, asthma and cancer detection from primary care.

I chose a career in General Practice because I love the variety of the work and opportunities: I am involved in teaching within the University as an Oxford University Medical Education Fellow and have a Masters in Clinical Education from Newcastle University. I have also previously worked internationally in Australia and South Africa as well as experiencing pre-hospital work mountaineering in Nepal and volunteering with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in London.
